ICC’s ‘betraying’ behavior towards Shakib Al Hasan

All sports around the world are currently closed due to coronavirus. There are no international matches for the cricket fans for a long time. However, one of International Cricket Council (ICC) posts took the social media by storm even during this gremlin season for the fans.

ICC's 'betraying' behavior towards Shakib Al Hasan

Recently, ICC threw questions to fans on both their Twitter and Facebook profiles about the best all-rounder of all time. Many have said many names. Someone is talking about the star all-rounders of the 70s, someone is talking about the all-rounders of the last decade, someone is mentioning the names of the best all-rounders of the present time.

Many have also spoken of Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh and that is certainly reasonable. Shakib has scored 11,752 runs in international cricket and also picked-up 562 wickets. So naturally, besides Bangladeshi fans, many foreign fans have also mentioned Shakib’s name.

There is no doubt that Shakib will be one of the best all-rounders off all time after he finishes his career. ICC usually reveals some names based on audience comments. So, the ICC has released the pictures of the best all-rounders yesterday after a certain period of viewer feedback. Shakib Al Hasan’s name has not been in there even though there have been pictures of big star all-rounders.

ICC previously announced that the list of the names will be publishes according to the public comments. So even though the names of so many players have been revealed, it is quite surprising that Shakib is not there.

The list released by the ICC included Imran Khan, Kapil Dev, Gary Sobers, Jacques Kallis, Ben Stokes, Shahid Afridi and Yuvraj Singh. Though Shakib’s contemporaries Afrifi, Yuvraj and Stokes are in the opinion of the viewers, ICC did not put Shakib in their list.

It is to be noted that after Shakib’s ban, ICC also removed all the points of Shakib from their list of top all-rounders and removed him from the rankings list. So, the questions may arise in the minds of the fans that why this kind of betraying behavior towards Shakib?

Take a look at some of the comments from local and foreign fans who supported Shakib in ICC’s tweet-
