I’m sure MS Dhoni spoke to Kohli, selectors on future: Ganguly
As cricket fraternity is bidding goodbye to this year, fans are eagerly waiting for MS Dhoni to decide his future. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly earlier said that champions like MS Dhoni don’t finish quickly in the game of cricket. There still hasn;t been any confirmation regarding MS Dhoni’s future as he himself said “don’t ask me till January” when asked about his future.
MS Dhoni has been on a sabbatical from international cricket ever since team’s semi-final exit in the ODI World Cup. His absence for a long time triggered speculations about his future.
“He’s had communication with the captain, I am sure he has had communication with the selectors, and I don’t think this is the platform to discuss about it,” Ganguly added during the latest episode of ‘Inspiration’ on India Today.
Ganguly heaped praise on the 38-year-old two-time World Cup-winning captain and said it will be tough to get a player of Dhoni’s reputation.
“It’s his (Dhoni) decision what he wants to do, but I don’t know. I haven’t spoken to him, but he’s a champion, he’s been an absolute champion in Indian cricket.”
Dhoni is the only captain to win the inaugural World T20 in South Africa in 2007 and the ODI World Cup at home in 2011 and Ganguly further said, “You won’t get another M S Dhoni very, very soon, but what he does — whether he wants to play, whether he doesn’t want to play, is up to him.”
