Ind vs WI: Pant’s girlfriend calls him ‘The King’ in Chennai ODI

Virat Kohli-led team surrendered at the hands of West Indies in the first ODI against West Indies at MA Chidambaram Stadium. It was a game to forget for India as they were in exceptional form since the World Cup exit. When India toured West Indies for a full-fledged series, they didn’t lose even a single match in overseas. West Indies bounced back in India after a T20I series loss.

India might have lost the match but wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant who has been under fire for his failures has finally managed to turn up the heat. He was one of the massive positives for India as he played a brilliant knock of 71 and had a century-plus stand with his Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer who scored 70 to his name.

Pant silenced the critics in a grand fashion and is slowly starting to earn the trust in the fans. Amidst his sensational innings, Pant’s girlfriend took to Instagram and labelled him as the “The King” after his superb performance. Isha Negi, who is a social media influence posted a screenshot of India’s final score – a graphic of BCCI’s official social media page and then expressed her love for Pant calling him ‘The King’.

His superb knock alongside Iyer helped India post a challenging total on the board. However, West Indies managed to chase down the target by eight wickets with thirteen balls to spare.

The ODI opener has been done and dusted with West Indies taking a lead in the three-match ODI series. The second match is scheduled to take place at Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam, today. The third and final ODI match is scheduled to play at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack on December 22 (Sunday).
