India vs Pakistan clash in CWC 2019 becomes most tweeted ODI!
Hatching banters from across the borders, the India versus Pakistan confrontation in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, staged at the Old Trafford in Manchester on Sunday (June 16) has become the most tweeted one-day international match on microblogging site Twitter assembling 2.9 million tweets, Twitter said in a statement.
India continued their dominance maintaining the winning streak against Pakistan in the World Cup with an exclusive 89-run victory which was also the biggest margin of win by India in any World Cup encounter against arch-rival neighbors.
Indian players also dominated the list of most tweeted players. Team India captain Virat Kohli topped the list and vice-captain Rohit Sharma was second. Former India captain MS Dhoni also received appreciations.
Kohli received wishes from fans for becoming the fast player to reach 11,000 one-day international runs, while Sharma was praised for his 24th career ton.
Others on the list included Pakistan captain Sarfraz Khan, veteran Shoaib Malik.
According to Twitter, the #INDvPAK hashtag was the most trending one. The most tweeted moment was when Vijay Shankar took his first wicket (Imam-ul-Haq), off his first World Cup delivery.
This was followed by Rohit Sharma’s astounding hundred. The third was rain interruption in first half of the innings.
