In the second match of the three-match T20 series in Ranchi, India defeated New Zealand by 7 wickets to win the series with one match in hand. Captain Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul light the show on fire with the bat while debutant Harshal Patel had a wonderful outing with a man of the match winning spell. 
After losing the toss, New Zealand scored 153 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Glenn Phillips top-scored for the team with 34 runs off 21 balls. Martin Guptill (31 off 15 balls) and his partner Daryl Mitchell (31 off 28 balls) were also among the runs. 
Harshal Patel took two important wickets for India. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Akshar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin got one wicket each.
Rohit and Rahul gave a flying start to India in pursuit of series victory. In the opening partnership, the duo scored 118 runs. When Rahul left with 65 runs from 49 balls, their partnership was broken. Before leaving, Rahul hit six fours and two sixes.
Rohit also could not leave the field after winning the team. The Indian captain scored 55 runs off 36 balls with the help of a four and five fours. After that Suryakumar Yadav returned cheaply but Venkatesh Iyer and Rishabh Pant won the match with 8 wickets and 18 balls in hand. Tim Southee took all three wickets for the Kiwis.
