Indian journalists utter a cry for Shakib
Bangladesh started their practice session in Delhi on Thursday for the preparation of the first T20I against the hosts.
As team Bangladesh has already reached into the Indian capital, reports emerged about breathing difficulty happening to several team staff including head coach Russell Domingo.
On Tuesday, Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Liton Kumar Das has appeared in the practice session wearing face mask to protect himself from intense smoky air.
The visiting team started practice session at around 1 pm on Tuesday. The newly revised T20I squad led by Mahmudullah Riyad reached Delhi on 30th October.
Bangladesh’s head coach Russell Domingo also expressed his unsatisfaction to Bdcrictime about the current situation of Delhi and said he is even finding it hard to breathe properly.
Meanwhile, some local reporters also expressed their disappointment to Bdcrictime for not being able to see Shakib in this tour and revealed that they were shocked to see an experienced player doing such mistake.
Staff reporter from Indian express said:
“We were not expecting anything of such magnitude. I mean there was lot of things happening before this tour. Shakib was leading the players in the rebellion and suddenly this came as a bolt from the blue. He is one of the greatest players Bangladesh has ever seen. The team will definitely miss him in this crucial Indian tour.”
Another journalist from The Tribune said:
“Bunch of us were really surprised because he is a professional guy. He had been a witness even in the Ashraful case, so we are actually surprised. Everybody was basically shocked. We are looking forward to seeing him come here, play well and do well for Bangladesh. After the players’ strike, suddenly this news came and then he was banned. So, it was quite a shock for everyone.”
