Indian players with the highest scores in yo-yo test
Indian players are shown the exit door and are not allowed to join the national team if they are unfit. BCCI introduced a mandatory fitness test, famously called the yo-yo test which will determine players’ endurance.
Players need to clear the test in order to play for the Indian team. There are some players who got top scores in the fitness test. Let’s take a glimpse at the list of players who performed well in the endurance test.
7. Rishabh Pant
The Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was fat-shamed for gaining weight and was advised to shed a few kilos by the team management. He worked hard on his fitness and scored 17.3 in the fitness test.
6. Ashish Nehra
Ashish Nehra was one of the important fast bowlers of Team India in his prime. The former southpaw reportedly told that the fitness test was easy being a fast bowler. He scored 18.5 in the fitness test.
5. Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya is tall, slim and fit and that’s because he keeps himself fit from time to time. He has showcased tremendous fielding efforts and took marvellous catches in his career. The all-rounder scored 19 in the fitness test.
4. Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world across three formats. Earlier, he told the media reporters that his batting improved to a great extent because of his fitness. The Indian skipper scored 19 in the yoyo test.
3. Manish Pandey
Manish Pandey is arguably one of the best fielders in the Indian team. He has saved crucial runs for the team and has taken terrific catches for India and in the Indian Premier League. It is all because of his fitness, he was able to pull off such efforts. He managed to score 19.2 in the yoyo test.
2. Mayank Dagar
Mayank Dagar is a domestic cricketer who plays for Himachal Pradesh in domestic cricket. The right-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler was part of India’s squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He managed to score 19.3 in the yoyo test.
1. Ahmad Banday
Ahmad Banday plays as an opener for Jammu and Kashmir State team across all formats at the national level. The 26-year-old Srinagar-born batsman scored 19.4 in the fitness test, the best score by any Indian player.
