India’s predicted playing XI for the 1st T20I against New Zealand

Harsha picks India squad for the 2019 WC

The Indian team will play the three-match T20I series against New Zealand that begins from February 6. After having won the five-match ODI series by 4-1 against New Zealand, India will look to dominate the hosts in the upcoming T20I series.

The Men in Blue have been in tremendous form as they are unbeatable at the moment.  The regular skipper, Virat Kohli has been rested for the T20I series.  In the absence of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma will lead the team.

But, it is not an easy task for the team management to finalize the playing eleven. They have a lot of in-form players in the squad.

Here is India’s T20I squad:

Rohit Sharma(c), Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni, Krunal Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddarth Kaul,  Khaleel Ahmed, Shubman Gill, Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya

Let us take a look at India’s predicted playing XI for the first T20I against New Zealand.

#1 Rohit Sharma (C)

Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team in the absence of regular skipper. He has been great in T20Is and would look to replicate his performance against New Zealand.  He failed to score in the ODIs but we can expect a big knock from him in the first T20I.

#2 Shikhar Dhawan

The left-handed batsman regained his form during the ODI series and was the highest scorer of the ODI series between India and New Zealand. Dhawan, who scored 188 runs from 5 ODIs against New Zealand, would look to score big at Wellington.
