IPL 2019: How RCB can still reach the playoffs despite securing only 12 points
After having lost the first six games in a row, they made a strong comeback and won four games so far this season. However, with the loss against Delhi Capitals on Sunday, their playoff chances are highly not possible. They are currently at the bottom of the table with 8 points and a net run rate of 0.694.
They still have two games in the league stage and Virat Kohli’s co. would look to end the IPL season on high. However, the Royal Challengers Bangalore still have a little chance to qualify for the playoffs despite having just 12 points at the end of the league stage. But, their fate is highly dependent on the results of other games.
Here is how RCB can still qualify for the playoffs despite having just 12 points:
Match 48: SRH vs KXIP – KXIP should win with a small margin ( KXIP 12 points)
Match 49: RCB vs RR – RCB should win with a huge margin (RCB 10 points)
Match 50: CSK vs DC – CSK/DC
Match 51: MI vs SRH – MI should win with a huge margin (MI 17 points)
Match 52: KXIP vs KKR – KKR should win with a small margin (KKR 12 points)
Match 53: DC vs RR – DC should win with a huge margin (DC 18 or 20 points – Based on their result against CSK)
Match 54: RCB vs SRH – RCB should win with a huge margin (RCB 12 points)
Match 55: KXIP vs CSK – CSK should win with a huge margin (CSK 18 or 20 points – Based on their result against DC)
Match 56: MI vs KKR – MI should win with a huge margin (MI 16 points)
The above match results will leave either CSK or DC with 20 points and MI with 16 points and these three teams will cover the top three spots. RCB, KKR and KXIP will be tied with 12 points and the teams with good net run rate will grab the 4th spot in the points table.
