IPL 2020: CSK to organize four-day camp, all eyes on Dhoni
Former India captain MS Dhoni is going to return to the net. Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is starting the camp from August 16. It will last for four days. After that, Dhoni’s CSK will fly to the United Arab Emirates.
The three-time IPL champions are organizing the camp to immerse themselves before heading to the desert. And with this, Dhoni is returning to cricket.
‘Captain Cool’ was last seen on CSK’s net in February-March. After that there was a lockdown across the country. Dhoni left Chennai and moved to Ranchi Farmhouse. Although he was occasionally seen on social media, he was no longer seen playing cricket. His close circle says that Dhoni has pursued fitness in the lockdown. But he did not bring that picture to the fore.
Needless to say, he will be at the center of all the attractions once CSK’s camp begins. Dhoni is scheduled to leave for Chennai on August 15. And from August 16 he will go down in the net. Kasi Viswanathan, Chief Executive Officer, CSK, said, “We have appealed to the Tamil Nadu government to set up camp. We have also been given verbal consent. However, written consent has not yet reached us. Once that is done, we will start a camp with Indian players.”
Brijesh Patel, chairman of the IPL Governing Council, said yesterday that the government’s written permission had reached them. As a result, there is no problem in arranging IPL on the soil of UAE. IPL will start from September 19. It will continue till November 10.
