IPL 2020: Iyer suffers shoulder injury, concern raises in DC camp
Delhi Capital (DC) camp are in serious concern as their captain Shreyas Iyer has picked up a shoulder injury against Rajasthan Royals yesterday in Dubai.
Iyer left the field with severe pain in his left shoulder after trying to save a Stokes’ boundary. He dived to pick up the ball but landed awkwardly which caused him the pain. After that, Iyer passed the whole evening in the dressing room watching the match as vice-captain Shikhar Dhawan served the duty of captaincy.
After the match, Dhawan talked about Iyer’s situation.
“Shreyas is in a bit of pain. We will know more tomorrow. His shoulder is moving, touch wood,”
Iyer’s injury added immense concern in the DC team as Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra had been already ruled out from the tournament. And DC’s one of the most reliable batsman Rishabh Pant had been also sidelined due to hamstring injury.
However, Delhi have moved to the first position of the point table beating Rajasthan by 13 runs yesterday in an exciting encounter. They’re at the top of the table with 12 points and pushing for the qualifiers along with Mumbai Indians.
