Kings XI Punjab franchise was thrilled to announce the signing of former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble Director of Cricket Operations for the upcoming season of lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL).

Kumble who has formidable experience in cricket-related matters was the head coach of the Indian cricket team but he resigned from the post in 2017 due to a dull relationship with Indian cptain Virat Kohli.

Earlier, Kumble has worked with 2 IPL sides namely Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) as a mentor. At RCB, he didn’t win any championship with his powerful side but when he joined Mumbai Indians, it was totally a sheer success for him and the whole brigade. a

Now that Kumble has joined Kings XI Punjab, he will expected his side to perform well as they are yet to win a title since inception of the premier tournament.

In the latest development, Anil Kumble added that according to him there is some uncertainty over the Ravi Ashwin’s leadership going into the next season. Meanwhile, Kings XI Punjab co-owner Ness Wadia told that the Kings XI franchise is going to retain their last season’s captain.

“We have not decided that yet. Some decisions need to be made but we don’t need to decide at this moment. IPL is still five months away. There is an auction coming up, we will start to build a squad around that as well.

Ashwin had a wonderful two years but of course we did not get the right results but we have not made any decision who the captain will be,” Anil Kumble was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
