Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) batting line-up has been shattered terribly after chasing a modest target of 127 runs thrown by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) yesterday in Dubai.

They lost their last 7 wickets scoring only 14 runs. Punjab has kept the hope of play-off alive by winning by 12 runs.

Hyderabad got off to a great start as they chased down 128 runs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday night. David Warner and Jonny Bairstow scored 56 runs in 6.2 overs in the opening partnership. Then Warner got out. He scored 35 off 20 balls. Bairstow also got out after this. He scored 19 runs off 20 balls. Abdul Samad was dismissed for 7 runs after that. From there, Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar made a good steady partnership and made team’s score 100 runs.

Then their disaster began. They lost the last 7 wickets after going from 100 to 114 runs. Manish (15), Shankar (26), Jason Holder (5), Rashid Khan (0), Sandeep Sharma (0), Priyam Garg (3) and Khaleel Ahmed (0) all went back to pavilion between these.

In such a victory, Chris Jordan and Arshdeep Singh made valuable contribution for Punjab. Jordan took 3 wickets for 17 runs in 4 overs and Arshdeep took 3 wickets for 27 runs in 3.5 overs.

Earlier in the Punjab innings, Nicholas Pooran scored a maximum of 32 runs. Lokesh Rahul scored 27, Chris Gayle scored 20, Mandeep Singh scored 17 and Glenn Maxwell scored 12 runs.

Hyderabad’s Sandeep Sharma, Jason Holder and Rashid Khan took two wickets each.

Chris Jordan was adjusted man of the match for his superb bowling.
