IPL 2020: New Schedule is out now

IPL governing council has finally released the finalized and nee schedule for this year’s edition of the Indian Premier League.

This year’s edition of the Indian Premier League is around the corner now with only a few days left for the tournament. The tournament faced a mandatory postponement due to the coronavirus pandemic situation across the globe.

Now with all the precautions and guidelines from the health sector, the tournament is ready to be hosted in the United Arab Emirates. Ahead of the league, all the franchises have arrived in UAE and started their training sessions. Still, there was some delay in the release of the final schedule of the tournament.

Now IPL governing council has released the final schedule and as expected Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians will be facing each other in the tournament opener in Abu Dhabi. There were some speculations on whether Chennai Super Kings might be able to play the opening game or not. But now all the doubts and speculations are cleared.

According to the schedule, 24 IPL matches will be held in Dubai, 20 matches in Abu Dhabi, and 12 matches in Sharjah. There will be 10 doubleheader days in the season. All the night matches will start at 7.30 PM IST while afternoon matches will start at 3.30 PM IST.

The League phase will go up to 46 days in the three venues and the last league match will be between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians in Sharjah, on November 3. The dates and venues for the playoffs as well as for the women IPL are yet to be announced.
