IPL 2020: Pant likely to be unavailable for at least a week
Delhi Capitals left-handed wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant will be out of action for at least a weak due to a hamstring injury.
Delhi Capitals had a bad day in the office as they lost to Mumbai Indians in the 27th game of IPL 2020. Mumbai Indians outsmarted Delhi Capitals and won the game by five wickets. Due to the defeat, Delhi Capitals lost their first place in the points table.
More bad news are coming by Delhi Capitals as their wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant is likely to miss a couple of games more due to a hamstring injury. In the last game against Mumbai Indians too, Rishabh Pant wasn’t in the playing XI. The left-handed batsman suffered a hamstring injury during their game against Rajasthan Royals on Friday.
At the end of the game against Mumbai Indians, Shreyas Iyer confirmed that the wicket-keeper batsman needs to have rest for at least a week. In such circumstances, Rishabh Pant will miss a minimum of two games for Delhi Capitals.
“We have no idea (on Rishabh’s availability), the doctor said he has to rest for a week and hope he comes back really strong,” Iyer said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
This is not the first time that Delhi Capitals are facing injury issues in the season. Already their prominent leg-spinner Amit Mishra has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to a finger injury. Before that Ravichandran Ashwin missed a few games due to a shoulder injury he sustained in the very first game.
