However, Rajasthan Royals’ mentor Shane Warne has given an update about the all-rounder’s chance to participate in IPL 2020. He hasn’t specified any particular date but he said that Stokes will be a part of Royals’ side surely this year.

“Hopefully, Ben Stokes would play a part this year, he’s a big loss and our thoughts are with him, but you know, add Ben to the team that played the other night and it looks a very, very good side,”

Warne told PTI.

The return of Ben Stokes will be a big boost as well as a healthy competition for the four spots of overseas players in the team. Currently, his compatriot Tom Curran has filled Stokes’ absence in the team.

Stokes and his family are passing a tough period as his father has been diagnosed with brain cancer. He earlier left the Pakistan series in the middle and went straight to New Zealand to check-up on his father. Since then, he is nowhere to be seen and that has raised the questions over his participation in the IPL.
