IPL 2021: Livingstone flies back home owing to bubble fatigue

Rajasthan Royals ran through troubled waters in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League after their all-rounder Liam Livingstone has been ruled out of the entire season due to bubble fatigue.

Not a long ago, their key all-rounder Ben Stokes was ruled out of the whole IPL due to a broken finger. His journey in this season’s IPL came to an abrupt end after picking up an injury to his left hand during the team’s opener against Punjab Kings.

The England all-rounder injured himself while taking a catch to get rid of Universe Boss Chris Gayle on April 12 and following investigations opened up that Stokes sustained a broken finger, which will, sadly, keep him out of the whole IPL season.

As if that’s not enough, England pacer Jofra Archer has also been ruled out at least in the initial phase of the IPL. Archer had undergone surgery on his hand and is back to training in England. He is expected to join the RR camp in the near future and the franchise would drop an update very soon.

The England all-rounder has flown back home to England due to bio-bubble fatigue. A number of players in the past have expressed concerns over bubble fatigue and have withdrawn from the tournament citing the same reason.

This time, it was all-rounder Livingstone. RR franchise confirmed the news on Tuesday via their official Twitter handle. However, RR didn’t utilise the all-rounder in any of the 3 games played so far.

“Liam Livingstone has flown back home late last night, due to bubble fatigue accumulated over the past year. We understand and respect his decision, and will continue supporting him in any way we can,” the franchise mentioned in a tweet.
