Gujarat Titans batsman David Miller claimed the 2022 IPL season will go down in history as one of his most memorable in the Indian Premier League and praised the spirit of the winning team. Gujarat made history when they won the coveted title in their first season, thanks in large part to Miller's contributions.
Gujarat Titans batsman David Miller said the 2022 IPL season had been one of his most memorable stints in the Indian Premier League and addressed morale in the winning camp. Miller played a key role in helping Gujarat's screenwriting story as they won the coveted crown in their first season.
David Miller hit 481 runs in 16 games with a staggering batting average of 142.73 for the Gujarat Titans. Miller has surpassed 350 runs in three consecutive seasons from 2013-2015, but he only managed to surpass the 200-run mark once in the next 6 years.
Miller was bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 3 crore but few expected the South African star to be one of the team's most valuable players. Miller thrived in his role as Gujarat's finisher, averaging nearly 70 runs per game.
"It was one of my most memorable seasons just in terms of the team. As I've said so many times, the team made so many contributions throughout the competition.

“Obviously we're the underdogs throughout the competition and it's really nice to lift the trophy. Very, very memorable for me," Miller told Rashid Khan, speaking to the IPL website.
Miller excelled against spin, and the left-hander lashed out at the Rajasthan Royals' spinners in Qualifier 1 and Sunday's final at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium.
In IPL 2022, Miller averaged 206 runs against spin and averaged over 100 against spinners. The South African batsman said he's tried hard to counter the spin in recent years and is happy it's paid off.
"I started working hard. I failed so many times, it's difficult to beat in the middle order, with the run rate and the fact that every situation is very different, and give me the best chance and keep calm.
“But what I really enjoyed this season was playing spin. I've been working very hard against spin for the past 3-4 years. I never really thought I had a problem but I changed 1 or 2 things and it worked. Very pleased," Miller added.
Miller went 32 of just 19 balls unbeaten on Sunday as Gujarat chased a paltry 131 goal in just 18.1 overs to beat Rajasthan and lift the 2022 IPL trophy.
