IPL Auction 2021: 292 players shortlisted; Shakib slotted in the highest bracket
The final shortlisted players for the hammering process of IPL 2021 has been released by the IPL Governing Council.
The proceedings for the next edition of the Indian Premier League have been started with two more months to go for the league. The hammering process for this year’s edition is scheduled to happen in Chennai on February 18th. After the mini auctions, there will be some new additions in all the franchises.
The most anticipated hammering process will happen on February 18th in Chennai. The auction will start at 3.00 pm (Indian Standard Time). Last week, IPL Governing Council revealed the total count of players who expressed their desire to take part in the league.
Now the Governing Council released the final list of players who will be going under the hammer. A total of 292 players are selected for the auction from 1114 players who applied for the auction. The final list is selected after the eight franchises submitted the shortlist of players.
Among the listed players, there will be 164 Indian players, 125 overseas players, and 3 players from Associate Nations. INR 2 crore is the highest bracket price as usual. Two Indian players namely Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav, and eight foreign players namely Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Shakib Al Hasan, Moeen Ali, Sam Billings, Liam Plunkett, Jason Roy, and Mark Wood have slotted them in the highest bracket.
In the bracket of 1.5 INR crore, 12 players have slotted their names. 11 players including Indian players Umesh Yadav and Hanuma Vihari have placed them with a base price of 1 INR crore. Totally 113 capped players International players will be coming under the hammer.
