IPL: Team-wise three players who could be retained ahead of the mega auction
After the suspension of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League, everyone is waiting for the final leg of the tournament which is expected to start on coming September. On the other hand, teams are eyeing the mega auction of IPL 2022 which is going to conclude after the completion of the ongoing season.
Besides, we have witnessed that some of the teams have become weak after the mega auction and a few turned out strong. But we can expect a tough bidding war among the franchise with three retained players in their bag. Let’s have a look at the three players who would be retained by their franchise ahead of IPL Auction 2022.
The Kerela born batsman who has been named as the new sipper of the side would be the first player retained by Rajasthan Royals. He registered his first triple-digit numbers in IPL 2021 as captain against Punjab Kings which ended in a losing cause. He has scored 277 runs this season at an average of 46.16 and will be looking to improve his performance once the tournament resumes.
Ben Stokes is one of the finest all-rounders that England has ever produced. He was bought by the Rajasthan-based franchise for a whopping amount of INR 12.5 crores in the IPL Players’ Auction 2018.
Since then, Stokes become a regular member of the Rajasthan Royals line-up and yet to make an impact with the bat. However, he would be retained by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the mega auction.
The English wicket-keeper batsman, Jos Buttler has given all he had for Rajasthan Royals. Likewise, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler joined the franchise in IPL 2018 and remained as the best top-order batsman for the side. In IPL 2021, he has scored his maiden hundred against Sunrisers Hyderabad and helped his side to come out from the losing streak.
