IPL’s final auction pool announced, Shakib in marquee set

The Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) on Saturday released the much-anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 Player Auction list. The list has 16 marquee players from India and overseas headlining the big pool of 578 players that will go under the hammer on Jan 27 and 28 in Bengaluru. With 18 players retained, 182 slots are up for grabs for the eleventh edition of the cash-rich league. A total of 62 capped Indians and 298 uncapped Indian cricketers will vie for the available slots with 182 capped overseas cricketers, 34 uncapped overseas players and 2 cricketers from Assosciate Nations.

Marquee Players R Ashwin, Gautam Gambhir, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Christopher Gayle, Ben Stokes, Kane Williamson, Glenn Maxwell, Joe Root, Mitchell Starc, Faf du Plessis, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard each priced at INR 2 crore – will set the tone as an intense battle is set to follow.

All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who is released by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after 7 years is also in the set of marquee. The 30-year old all-rounder who is in red hot form and became back to back man of the match in the first two matches of the tri-nation series is all set to get some heavy attraction in the IPL auction. Some sources claims that Delhi Daredevils have already shown interest on Shakib while Kings XI Punjab have targeted Tamim Iqbal.
