It’s all OK when it’s DK

Kolkata Knight Riders registered their third victory in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) by beating Rajasthan Royals by three wickets. With this win,  Kolkata have broken Rajasthan’s winning streak at this venue in IPL (9 games) to climb to the top of the table.

Having been asked to bat first at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals posted 160 in 20 overs losing 8 wickets. Opner D Arcy Short was the top scorer for Rajasthan with 44 off 43 balls. Another opener Ajinkya Rahane was the second highest run-getter for RR with a quick 36. He hit five fours and a maximum in his firing 19-ball innings.

In reply, Kolkata Knight Riders chased down the 161-run target in just 18.5 overs. Although KKR had a poor start losing their opener Chris Lynn in the third ball of the innings, another Sunil Narine and Robin Uthappa tackled the situation by adding 69 runs for the second wicket partnership.

After losing the wickets of Narine and Uthappa, skipper Dinesh Karthik and Nitish Rana stayed on the middle till the end to guide KKR to the victory. Nitish scored 35 off 27 balls while Karthik played a blistering 42-run knock off just 23 balls.
