It’s like a virus has been removed from his batting: Jadeja on Shaw
Former India batsman Ajay Jadeja has expressed his wonder seeing Delhi Capitals (DC) opener Prithvi Shaw’s batting in the Indian Premier League (2021).
Shaw had been in superb form as he’s in the top 5 in highest run-scorers list in the tournament with 308 runs from 8 matches before the tournament was suspended indefinitely.
However, Shaw made a great turn around in his career after he dropped from the Australia Tests last year. Then he resolved his batting technique and scored over 800 runs in this year’s Vijay Hazare Trophy for the first time in tournament’s history. He carried that form in the IPL too.
Jadeja compared Shaw’s batting to a computer and said that a virus removed from his batting which made his technique more fluent. “Like a computer has a virus, it’s like a virus has been removed from his batting. Last year, a little virus had crept in his mind or technique, whichever way you want to put it. But when a player emerges from a shock – Shaw is an exceptional player – but even an ordinary player at any level finds it easy in his first year, but when the second year comes – if he can surpass it, he can leave everyone behind,” Jadeja told Cricbuzz.
Last year, Shaw passed a very poor season after hitting couple of half-centuries at the start of the tournament. After that, many questions raised over his batting technique. But this year, the 21-year old answered all the question with his nice batting.
