The two batting greats will lock horns with each other in the all-important World Test Championship final starting from June 18 to June 22 in England. Southampton will host the inaugural edition of the Test Championship and it will be quite interesting to see which team will win the mega event.

Talking about the special event that is scheduled to be held next month, the veteran went on to say that, “If Kane Williamson was Indian, he would be the greatest player in the world.” He further said that social media users shower praise on Virat and call him the best only because he is the most followed cricketer on Instagram.

Wasim Jaffer takes a swipe at Michael Vaughan

Meanwhile, the remarks didn’t go well with the netizens and he found himself on the receiving end of trolls. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings batting coach and former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer who is best known for giving epic replies to the haters gave a perfect reply to Vaughan.

The former cricketer brutally trolled Vaughan adding that he literally pokes his nose in every matter. Retweeting the quote by the 46-year-old, Wasim Jaffer wrote, “Extra ungli Hrithik ke paas hai par karta Michael Vaughan hai” (means Hrithik Roshan has an extra finger, but it is often Vaughan who uses it to poke others).

Even, Rajasthan Royals’ pacer Jaydev Unadkat couldn’t stop himself from reacting to Jaffer’s tweet.

Earlier, during an interview, Vaughan said: “If Kane Williamson was Indian, he would be the greatest player in the world. But he’s not because you’re not allowed to say that Virat Kohli is not the greatest, because you’d get an absolute pelting on social media.”

“So, you all say Virat is the best purely to get a few more clicks and likes, few more numbers following here. Kane Williamson, across formats, is equally the best. I think the way he plays, the calm demeanour, his humbleness, the fact that he is silent about what he does,” Vaughan said.
