Defending Champion SRH suffers another defeat

Rising Pune Supergiants has claimed another comfortable win in the tenth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League. In the 44th match of the season, RPS has defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 12 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad.

So defending champion Sunrisers Hyderabad has to swamp one more defeat in this edition but they are still in a good chase for the play – offs, clinching the fourth position in the point table.

Jaydev Unadkat seized the show from Sunrisers Hyderabad; when they needed 14 runs in 5 balls with 4 wickets in hand, Unadkat sealed a hat – trick to finish things off for the home team.

The 25 year old Gujarat left arm medium pacer structured an excellent bowling figure at the end of the match taking 5 wickets conceding 30 runs in his 4 overs.

Rising Pune Supergiants noted high with batting and bowling in the particular match, successfully defended 148 runs they scored after batting first.

Sunrisers Hyderabad was, at a stage, closing in to the target aforetime their middle order batting line up flipped them into a deep hole ultimately was bundled out scoring 136 runs for the loss of 9 wickets playing 20 overs.

Skipper David Warner, in the opening position, contributed second highest for the team. Warner has been running a successful season with the bat in hand, scored 40 off 34 deliveries striking 4 fours and a six.

At number four, Yuvuraj Singh blazed with the bat, his 43 ball 47 ushered hopes for the home team at one stage but it diminished as soon as he departed.

There were hardly anyone who stood to take the team into the victory margin. Eight batsmen of Sunrisers Hyderabad failed to reach even in the two figure mark.

Apart from Jaydev Unadkat, Rising Pune Supergiants’ super recruit Ben Stokes also exhibited wonderful bowling effort. Stokes captured 3 for 30 in his allotted 4 overs.

In the first half of the match, Rising Pune Supergiants posted 148 runs in their innings. Three of their batsmen reached into thirties, the score of RPS could have been bigger had anyone of them continued their innings a little further.

RPS’s million dollar selectee Ben Stokes was the highest scorer for the team, he made a 25 ball 39 with 3 shots of sixes and one four.

Captain Steve Smith, batting at number three, reached 34 in 39 deliveries with no shots to offer.

Former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored 21 ball 31 with two fours and equal number of sixes.
