South African former cricketer Jonty Rhodes posted an image on the social media of himself taking a dunk in the ‘Holy Ganges’ on Wednesday.

Rhodes’ India love story is not new today. Jonty also named his own daughter ‘India’. His love for India seems to be little more than any foreign player. Indian Premier League (IPL) is up front. So Jonty Rhodes will be in India for the next few months. Already, the fielding coach of Mumbai Indians has started working with the team.

Jonty kept up his mental preparation before the IPL began on March 29. He dipped in Rishikesh’s Ganges to purify his mind and body.

Jonty had gone straight to Rishikesh before coming to India before the tournament started. He went there and drowned in the Ganges. The photo posted on Twitter wrote, “Benefits of cold water immersion in the Holy Ganges are both physical and spiritual.”

Jonty showed proper respect India’s culture and heritage. Even this time by posting pictures of bathing in the Ganges, once again the legendary cricketer of South Africa has earned the love and respect of the supporters. In the meantime, many have demanded that Jonty be granted Indian citizenship.
