Jos Buttler to miss opening game of Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals suffer a big blow ahead of their opening game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as their key batsman Jos Buttler will miss the game.
England wicket-keeper Jos Buttler has confirmed on Instagram that he will miss Rajasthan Royals’ opening game against Chennai Super Kings as he is in quarantine with his family in Dubai.
Buttler missed the series against Australia due to personals reasons and he is currently with his family in Dubai. England and Australia players travelled from one bubble to another and the BCCI reduced the quarantine period to 36 hours.
However, the quarantine period for Buttler remains the same which was previously decided, that is six days as he travelled to Dubai with his family.
The English batsman confirmed his non-availability for the first game via his Instagram handle and also thanked the franchise for letting his family to be with him.
“I’m unfortunately going to miss the first match for Rajasthan because I’m going to be doing my quarantine period because I’m here with my family – which is great that the Royals have allowed me to have my family out here. It’ll be a huge help in lockdown having my family here with me,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals’ skipper Steve Smith has already reached in UAE on September 17. He is set to the play the first game and lead the side against Chennai Super Kings. MS Dhoni and his men won their opening game against the defending champions in the opening game of the tournament.
