JP Duminy to play for Rajshahi Kings in BPL 2019

Rajshahi Kings, the Bangladesh Premier League T20 franchise, have signed former South African all-rounder JP Duminy as one of their overseas signings for the upcoming BPL 2019-20, the Kings confirmed the news on Saturday in their official social media account.  [নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ ডুমিনিকে দলে ভেড়ালো রাজশাহী]

“Rajshahi Kings are proud to announce that South African allrounder JP Duminy is a King now,” the announcement came later on the day.

Kings further said, “Duminy; an elegant left handed batsman, a useful spinner and a sharp fielder, has served South Africa for more than 14 years. He has a vast experience in franchise cricket and already led PSL team Islamabad United to their second title in 2018.”

35-year old Duminy played 81 T20 internationals for South Africa and scored 1934 runs at an average of 38.7. He also appeared in 199 ODIs where he accumulated 5117 runs at an average of 36.8. In Test cricket, Duminy scored 2103 runs playing 46 matches.

He announced retirement from Test cricket back in September 2017 whereas in July 2019 Duminy made farewell from all forms of cricket.

At present, he plays domestic cricket for his home team, the Cape Cobras, PSL cricket team Islamabad United and Indian Premier League team Mumbai Indians.
