Kaif questions Kohli’s captaincy

In modern cricket, aggressive captains like Virat Kohli is rarely seen. In addition to inspiring every player on the team, he also knows how to make the spectators a part of the game. As a result, many people like Kohli as the captain. However, former cricketers are still questioning one of his issues.

Kaif questions Kohli's captaincy

A few days ago, former India pacer Ashish Nehra complained that Kohli was not using Rishabh Pant properly. He said that MS Dhoni’s successor is carrying water nowadays. This time Mohammad Kaif has also opened his mouth. Kaif has complained about too much experimentation with the team.

In his words, Kohli is not allowing the youth to settle in the team, Kohli is conducting more tests on the selection of the team. He shouldn’t be doing it. In the last World Cup, Kohli has done a lot with the team’s lineup. It has taken many new players to the World Cup. Kohli should rely on the elected, support them. Kohli should make players. Then he will get a good team.

Referring to Rishabh Pant, Kaif said in the Helo app live session,

“They are also changing a lot in the role of wicket-keeper. India needs a specific wicket-keeper. KL Rahul may be an alternate wicket-keeper but it would not be right to make him the key keeper. Kohli should give him enough support if he chooses Rishabh Pant instead of Dhoni. He is not there to carry the team’s water.”

Kaif’s idea is that Kohli could be a better captain than MS Dhoni. But to do that, Kohli has to have confidence in the players, “Kohli and his team have to cross this last hurdle. If so, Kohli could retire as the most successful captain. Kohli has match-winning players, good players. You have to support them, if you want to make a team. If they can play as a team, they will be great. If he continues in this way, then Kohli will surpass Dhoni by the time of his retirement.”
