Karthik apologies to BCCI for entering TKR dressing room

Dinesh Karthik has issued an apology to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)  for violating one of board’s code.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Dinesh Karthik has made himself fall into trouble after entering the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) dressing room during a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) game.

As soon as Karthik entered the room, BCCI sent a notice since he was in violation of his national contract, according to which he could not participate, in any capacity, in a league besides the IPL without a No Objection certificate from the BCCI.

However, the wicket-keeper batsman sent an email on September 6 to the board to clarify his position.

“At the outset, I wish to state that I have not participated in Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in any capacity. My coming to Trinidad was at the invitation of the newly appointed head coach of Kolkata Knight Riders Mr McCullum, who also happens to be the head coach of TKR. He felt that it will be useful for me as captain of KKR, to come for some discussions with him in regard to KKR.”

“I wish to tender my unconditional apology for not seeking permission from BCCI to embarking on this visit. I sincerely request this oversight be excused,” he emailed.

Karthik is in West Indies from  September 1 to 9, a period in which TKR was going to play three home games. But after being issued a notice by the board, he didn’t went to the TKR dressing room further,
