Kedar Jadhav ruled out of IPL 2019, World Cup participation in doubt
Indian all-rounder Kedar Jadhav has suffered a shoulder injury during the last match of the group stage of his franchise Chennai Super Kings against Kings XI Punjab in this year’s edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He will likely to miss out the remaining matches of IPL.
Kedar Jadhav harmed his left shoulder when endeavoring to spare an overthrow from Ravindra Jadeja during the second innings of the match at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali on Sunday. Jadhav needed to leave the field to consult with the physio Tommy Simsek after the damage in the fourteenth over and he looked in serious discomfort at the time of leaving. Jadhav didn’t come to the field for the rest of the innings. Murali Vijay replaced him to do the job.
Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming confirmed that Jadhav will undergo for on his shoulder on Monday, 6 May. He also mentioned that the injury “didn’t look good.”
“He’s getting an X-ray and a scan tomorrow, so we’re hopeful for him. I don’t think we’ll see him again in this competition for us. His consideration is swung to the World Cup. He’s in some inconvenience yet we should be precise with our appraisal tomorrow. Fingers crossed that it is nothing excessively serious except for it didn’t look that good,” he said.
This is surely a big blow for Chennai Super Kings especially for the Indian National Cricket team. He’s one of the most important player in the Indian side as he had served well recently for his country. So, team India and his fans will surely hope that the injury won’t be much serious and he’ll recover soon.
Kedar Jadhav passed an unforgettable IPL this year as he just scored 162 runs in 14 matches with the strike rate of 95.85 averaging just 18.00.
