Khulna Tigers kick-off with a comprehensive victory

Tight bowling and Rilee Roussow’s clinical innings guided Khulna Tigers to an easy victory over Chattogram Challengers in their opening game.

Chattogram Challengers started their BPL campaign with a win while it was Khulna Tigers’ maiden game in the tournament. But Mushfiqur Rahim and his men outclass their opponent and clinched a dominating win.

After putting into bat first, Chattogram only managed to score only 144 with the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Most of the batsman couldn’t continue after making a start and it resulted in a tough night for Chattogram. It was Muktar Ali, who’s an impressive cameo of 29* from 14 balls helped them to put up a fighting total in the end.

Leg-spinner Aminul Islam Biplod, who made his return after recovering from injury was impressive with the ball as he finished with 1/25 in 4 overs Robbie Frylinc and Shafiul Islam also picked up one wicket each and bowled well.

In reply. Khulna lost the early wicket of the in-form Nazmul Hossain Shanto courtesy of a brilliant stumping from Nurul Hasan. But that was the ending of the good phase for Khulna as it was all about Rahmanullah show since then. With 4 fours and 5 sixes, he smashed 50 off just 19 balls and made the chase all too easy.

After his departure, Roussow also went onto score a fifty and along with the skipper Mushfiqur (28*), Khulna cruised to a comfortable 8-wicket victory.
