Kieron Pollard teases Dwayne Bravo after winning the IPL trophy
Kieron Pollard has been an important pillar for Mumbai Indians. The West Indies international has been plying his trade at this franchise for more than a decade. MI all-rounder often chipped in with vital contributions to the team as a three-dimensional player.
The Caribbean showcased his mettle with the bat, ball and on the field. He went on to win his fifth title at Mumbai Indians as his team defeated Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets with 6 balls to spare. The big-hitting batsman scored 268 runs in this season while also picking up four wickets.
Besides scoring runs and taking wickets, he has been quite sharp on the field. He took 8 catches so far. Moreover, Pollard is a fantastic T20 cricketer. He hasn’t only won titles at Mumbai Indians but also across the world. Overall, he has won 15 titles to his name.
Pollard now has more T20 titles than any other player in the cricketing world. Dwayne Bravo has won 14 T20 titles, Shoaib Malik won 12 titles, Rohit Sharma has won 10 T20 titles while Lasith Malinga has won 9 titles. After winning fifth title at Mumbai Indians, Pollard moved ahead of Bravo.
At the post-match presentation, Pollard teased Bravo. “It’s a great feeling, means a lot. Fifth trophy. Have been here for 11 years. We have a quiet celebration. He is a different West Indian. He goes at 6 am to the gym. The number of trophies, the amount of talent that’s there, you can say MI is the best T20 team going around. The management, the support staff, the effort they put in to make. Dwayne Bravo you are behind me now (about number of T20 titles), I have to say that on camera,” Pollard said.
Talking about the IPL 2020 final, the likes of Rohit Sharma, Trent Boult performed really well for Mumbai Indians. Rohit played a captain’s knock as he scored 68 off 51, hitting 5 fours and 4 sixes. Boult picked up three wickets to his name. He was named the man of the match for his bowling performance.
“Some days I do like the powerplay. It’s been a good few months, giving the franchise a good start. With everything going on, I’ve been welcomed in the side. To have made it across the line, it’s been worth it. I wasn’t aware of the talk, but I did have a niggle coming into the match.
I wanted to be on the stage and happy I came through. I’d like to say I’m relatively experienced. Just another match and I was clear what I had to do. Tried to take a few early wickets, swing the new ball a little bit, that’s been my role in the side,” Trent Boult said at the post-match presentation.
The all-rounder of West Indies, Dwayne Bravo has replied to Kieron Pollard’s comment.
