KL Rahul reacts to Neesham’s challenge on Twitter
The third and final ODI match which was held at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui had plenty of drama at the office. KL Rahul scored his fourth ODI century and steered his team to a total of 296-7. In response to India’s total, New Zealand started the game quite well with a lot of intensity. Thanks to Henry Nicholls (80) and Colin de Grandhomme (58) who helped team ace the run-chase by five wickets.
In the process, New Zealand inflicted ODI series whitewash on India for the first time in 31 years. The on-field battle might have ended between India wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul and New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham but the hilarious banter between them continued on social media as KL Rahul responded to all-rounder Jimmy Neesham’s “Papers, Scissors, Rock” challenge.
It all started when Jimmy Neesham tweeted a picture of himself with Rahul after the end of the third ODI. In his tweet, the Kiwi all-rounder had challenged the Indian wicket-keeper for a game of ‘rock, paper, scissors.’
KL Rahul accepted the challenge thrown by his KXIP teammate Neesham. KL Rahul will lead Kings XI Punjab in the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and will share the same dressing room with Jimmy Neesham. During the 2020 IPL auctions, Neesham was drafted by Kings XI Punjab for INR 50 lakh.
“Let’s settle this in April. See u in a bit,” tweeted Rahul.
