KL Rahul scores century, achieves impressive feat at Bay Oval
Lokesh Rahul on Tuesday orchestrated a brilliant hundred against New Zealand in the third and final one day international match of the series at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
With that, he became the first India batsman to score a century against Kiwis in New Zealand while coming to bat at number five or below.
Overall, he became the second Indian batsmen to score a ton in New Zealand at number five or below after Suresh Raina, who slammed a century against Zimbabwe during the 2015 World Cup.
Rahul also surpassed skipper Virat Kohli in an elite list where he has gone past the three figure mark four times in 31 innings.
Kohli took 36 innings to do so while Shikhar Dhawan tops the chart to score his fourth century in 24th innings.
ODI century No.4 and his first at No. 5. What an impressive knock this has been from the versatile @klrahul11. He brings up his century in 104 balls with 9×4 and 1×6.#NZvIND pic.twitter.com/q8Vi5BK1I0
