Indian captain Virat Kohli is often known to create records in contemporary cricket. Once again, he has achieved yet another milestone off the field by becoming the first Indian to reach 50 million followers mark on the famous social media platform, Instagram.

Only three Indians are topping the Instagram charts with Virat Kohli leading the chart with a massive 50 million followers followed by Priyanka (49.9 mn followers) and Deepika (44.1 mn followers). Virat Kohli has 930 Instagram posts, two IGTV videos and follows 148 people on Instagram by far.

Kohli, who is leading the Indian national cricket team in New Zealand is enjoying a massive fan following on social media. The 30-year-old, who is also country’s most valuable celebrity, is not only known for breaking records on the field but is also making his presence count off the field as well, topping the brand valuation list for the third consecutive year.

His staggering value rose by an impressive 39% to $237.5 million last year. As far as the overall list is concerned, Cristiano Ronaldo is the world’s most popular celebrity on Instagram with more than 200 million followers followed by musician Ariana Grande (175 million followers) and Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson with 172 million followers.

Meanwhile, Indian captain Virat Kohli took to his official Instagram handle to share a video of himself from New Zealand on Tuesday (February 18) to thank his fans for their love and support on reaching the latest landmark.

He captioned the post: “5⃣0⃣ Million strong on @instagram ???????? Thank you guys for all the love and support. ????????????”
