Kohli chases back Smith in ICC Test Rankings
Indian skipper Virat Kohli is just two points behind Australian batsman Steve Smith to become no.1 batsman in ICC Test Rankings.
The second Test between India and South Africa ended as a dead rubber than the first Test. The hosts comfortably won the game by an innings and 137 runs within four days of play. It was another one sided Test match in India.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli topped the Indian batting line-up with a classic double ton and he remained unbeaten till the end of Indian innings. That knock from Virat Kohli helped him to gain more rating points in the latest ICC Test Rankings revealed by ICC following the second Test between India and South Africa.
Virat Kohli stays at second position in the table for batsmen wit 936 points where Steve Smith tops the chart with 936 rating points. Indian skipper has high chances to become the no.1 batsman after the next Test and also he has high chnaces to attain career best rating points.
Other than Virat Kohli, Mayank Agarwal has broken into the top 20 of the Test batting rankings for the first time, climbing up 8 spots to the 17th position, after scoring hundreds in successive Tests in a prolific run of form against South Africa in the ongoing Test series.
In the list for bowlers, Ravichandran Ashwin moved up to seventh position from the tenth position he attained after the last Test and remains only spinner in the top ten list for bowlers.
