Kohli only Indian in highest-paid athletes’ list
Indian skipper Virat Kohli is arguably the consistent batsman in contemporary cricket. For being such an elite player on the field on the topmost level, he earns a staggering sum of money too.
Recently, Forbes revealed the list of world’s highest-paid athletes and quite interestingly, it is King Kohli who remains the only Indian in the Forbes list with estimated annual earnings of whopping $25 million.
Needless to say, the run-machine dropped 17 spots to 100th in the Forbes rankings.
Barcelona and Argentina world class player Lionel Messi tops the list with $127 million salary and endorsement deals outsmarting the retired boxer Floyd Mayweather as the sports world’s highest earner
As per the Forbes list which was unveiled recently, Kohli’s estimated earnings stand at $21 million from endorsements and $4 million from salary and winnings, thereby taking his overall tally to $25 million for the last year.
Kohli was ranked 83rd last year and he descended to the 100th spot and the last spot despite a hike of $1 million in endorsements.
Messi is now well ahead of long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo, the Juventus and Portugal star who follows next on the list with earnings of $109 million.
