Kohli puts Sachin and Lara’s record under threat
Indian captain Virat Kohli is a run-machine. He loves to go after each and every record and this is what makes him a class apart from most other batsmen in contemporary cricket.
During the sporting carnival between India and Pakistan, Virat Kohli scripted one more history as he became the fastest batsman to score 11,000 runs in One-Day Internationals. This goes to show that Kohli is the best batsman in the modern era.
Virat Kohli is also en route to breaking one more massive milestone when his team takes on Afghanistan on Saturday encounter.
He is just 104 runs away from becoming the fastest batsman to score 20,000 international runs. Interestingly, Kolhi has taken only 415 innings. Digging a tad deep about his statistics, he took 131 matches in Tests, 222 in ODIs, 62 in T20Is to register 19,896 international runs, putting cricket greats Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara’s current joint-record under threat.
Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara clinched the record in 453 innings while former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting took 468 innings to finish 20,000 international runs.
India are now fourth in the World Cup 2019 points table with 100% win record and one washed off fixture against New Zealand.
