Kohli receives the ‘Sportsman of the Year’ award from Warne

Indian skipper Virat Kohli is making the headlines for all the great reasons. Now, he has been honoured with the “Sportsman of the Year (Cricket) award” this year, due to his sensational performances for the team as well as leading the team from the vanguard to its first ever maiden Test series win in Australia.

Sportstar magazine, which is the proud organisers of these awards requested Shane Warne to present this most valuable award to Virat Kohli. The spin great Shane Warne who was on his trip to India to spark the season for Rajasthan Royals as team’s Royal brand ambassador presented the award to the Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and then, later on, felicitated him for his success.

“Virat is a very inspiring cricketer all around the world. He stands up for what he believes in and speaks his heart. He has got a lot of inbuilt skill and talent which is good competition and the will to complete the job. I congratulate him for this award and wish him more success,” added Warne.

This Sportstar’s Sportsman of the Year award acknowledges the untold stories, successes, and struggles of sporting icons throughout the realms of the Indian sport. The award has been earlier won by sporting legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Vishvanathan Anand and Leander Paes.

Now Virat Kohli joined the bandwagon in the list of Sportsman of the Year award and this special award  acknowledge the contribution of sportspersons to their respective sports field and inspire others to follow.
