Kohli, Shami return in ODI squad for SA stint

Kohli, Shami returns in ODI squad for SA stint

There was no room for KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin in the ODI squad for South Africa tour, which has been announced on Saturday (23 December).

Despite not giving chance to Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin in the squad, BCCI has included Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal in the squad and they are expected to be in charge of the spin department.

Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur after missing Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy 2017-18 quarterfinal against Karnataka due to injury, have been also called-up in the ODI squad of India. Apart from them, Kedar Jadhav, has been also earned call-up in the squad of South Africa tour. To be noted, he missed the limited-overs matches against Sri Lanka after suffering hamstring injury.

Siddarth Kaul and Washington Sundar have made way for the retuning first-choice players.

It can be mentioned that, India are going to face South Africa with nine frontline batsmen in the upcoming ODI series, which is scheduled to be started at the conclusion of Test series from February 1.
