Kohli trolls Ishant with cheeky remark on Instagram
Indian captain Virat Kohli started this year on a good note. Earlier, he was not in the Top 10 list of ICC batsmen rankings in the shortest format. But after producing a couple of quick knocks against Sri Lanka and a scintillating performance against West Indies in the T20I series.
The run-machine scored an aggregate of 56 runs in two innings at a strike rate of 164.71 against Sri Lanka. During the deciding T20I at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, Kohli became the second Indian after Mahendra Singh Dhoni and sixth overall in cricket history to amass 11,000 runs as captain in the international arena.
During the second T20I at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, Kohli went past 1,000 runs as captain in the shortest format.Meanwhile, Virat Kohli took a dig at his teammate Ishant Sharma on the latter’s Instagram post. Initially, Ishant Sharma posted an image of himself on Instagram and captioned it “you only live once”.
However, Virat Kohli quickly came up with a cheeky remark on Ishant’s post. “hamein toh pata hi nahi tha (we did not know this),” Kohli left a comment on Instagram. However, Kohli’s subtle dig at Ishant Sharma’s post left fans in stitches.
After beating Sri Lanka 2-0 in the three-match Twenty20 International series, India are all set to host Australia for three-match ODI series, with the first match scheduled to be played on January 14 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
