Kris Srikkanth slams MS Dhoni’s comment over CSK youngsters
Former Indian cricketer and former team selector Kris Srikkanth slammed Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni’s remark on youngsters of the franchise.
Chennai Super Kings led by MS Dhoni are in deep trouble as they have almost lost their way to qualify for playoffs of IPL 2020. This is the very first time the franchise are in such a pathetic position. Since then there has been lot of criticisms and trolls on the franchise.
The main criticism on the franchise is that they are not giving enough opportunities for the youngsters in the team. They gave a few chances for youngsters like Ruturaj Gaikward, Narayan Jagadeesan. This has been a big issue around the team. On the other hand repeated chances are given to players like Kedar Jadhav who is completely out of touch.
With these criticisms around the team, a statement from MS Dhoni in the post match presentation last night, has paved way for a big controversy. MS Dhoni mentioned that the youngsters in the team didn’t show much spark so far and that has been an issue with them. This statement has created a big controversy even among the fans of the franchise.
“Fair enough, this season we weren’t really there. Also there were few chances to the youngsters. Maybe we didn’t see the kind of spark that they could’ve given us to say okay you know push the experienced guys and make space for them. But what this result has done is give those youngsters whatever is left in our league stages,” he said.
Meanwhile former Indian cricketer and former team selector Kris Srikkanth highly criticised the comment from MS Dhoni. Srikkanth asked what kind of spark was shown by Piyush Chawla and Kedar Jadhav. He was totally disappointed with the statement and even commented that now MS Dhoni is the one without any spark.
“A guy like Jagadeesan… you’re saying youngsters don’t have spark, does Kedar Jadhav have spark? Did Piyush Chawla show spark? Come on, this is all ridiculous, I will not accept his answers today. By going on and on about the process, CSK’s tournament is going to end.”
“By saying that they will give opportunities from now to youngsters… come on, Jagadeesan showed some spark,” the former Indian cricketer said. Not only him, many experts and former players are unhappy with such a statement from a captain like MS Dhoni.
