Lalchand Rajput shares his photographs in Scottish attire
Owing to the current worldwide lockdown, the former India batsman, Lalchand Rajput is busy spending time on social media.
Recently, Rajput who is now the national coach of the Zimbabwe cricket team has shared his few old photographs in Scotland attire.
“It is known as Scottish Tartan. I used it when I made my debut for Scotland with quilt on the traditional Scottish wear,” speaking exclusively, he said.
“I didn’t play in this attire but the photographs were taken at the sidelines of the match. It is considered to be the traditional Scottish dress. It is also known as kilt in Scotland. I was thrilled to wear this attire. I was presented the same by the cricket authorities and have treasured the same,”
“I was the first player from India to play for Scotland. It was in 1986 and I played against Pakistan. Budhi Kunderan also played but he stayed there and became the citizen there.”
“I also played the Benson Hedges Cup and NatWest Trophy one season,” the 58-year-old former right-hand batsman signed off.
Later, Rahul Dravid also played for Scotland. It is not known whether he too got this attire from the authorities.
