Lara admitted to Mumbai hospital due to chest pain
In breaking news that disturbed the moods of the cricket fraternity, West Indies cricket great Brian Lara has been hospitalised in Mumbai after complaining of chest pain as reported by PTI.
It is cognisance of the fact that Brian Lara is one among the commentators at the ongoing ICC Men Cricket World Cup 2019.
As per the media reports, Lara attended an event in a nearby hotel and it was when he suddenly complained of discomfort. Though there is no such official statement on his health from the hospital, reports say that he had complained of chest pain.
Medical examinations started soon after the former West Indies cricketer was rushed to the Global Hospital in Parel, Mumbai at around 12.30 pm. The hospital authorities are likely to issue a statement over his condition on Tuesday.
Lara called it quits from international cricket in 2007. He was one of the elegant and flamboyant batsmen in his era where he gave some tough time to opposition bowlers.
He scored 11953 runs in 131 Test matches and cut to ODI format, Lara made 10405 runs in 299 matches and he is the first and only player to have scored 400 runs in Test innings.
