Lara terms Kohli as Ronaldo of cricket
Former West Indies captain and batsman Brian Lara quoted Indian skipper and start batsman Virat Kohli as the Christiano Ronaldo of the game cricket.
Indian skipper and right-handed batsman Virat Kohli is a modern day legend of the game without any doubts. Apart from chasing the records of former players, he is creating his very own legacy in the game.
The star Indian batsman is not limited to a certain format in the three major formats of the game. Former West Indies captain Brian Lara termed Indian skipper Virat Kohli as the Christiano Ronaldo of cricket. Christiano Ronaldo is an absolute legendary player in the game football.
“I think it has got a lot to do with Virat’s outstanding commitment besides his preparation. I don’t think he is any more talented than a KL Rahul or a Rohit Sharma but his commitment to prepare himself properly stands out. He is, for me, the cricketing equivalent of Cristiano Ronaldo,” Lara was quoted as saying in Hindustan Times.
“His fitness level and his mental strength is unbelievable. His batting skills are unbelievable. He is a guy you cannot leave out in any era. If a guy is averaging 50 plus in all versions of the game, then that is something which is unheard of,” Lara added.
Interestingly Indian skipper is also an ardent fan of the football player from Portugal. Both the players are the kings of their own dens and often find their names in the lists connected with the sportsmen in the world. In some interviews also, Virat Kohli admired about the fitness level of the Portuguese player.
