Latest update on Mehidy's injury scare
Bangladesh suffered a big blow ahead of the match against Afghanistan as all-rounder Mehidy Hasan suffered a head injury during a training session on Sunday.

The incident happened in the strangest way possible as Sabbir Rahman layed a lofted shot against a delivery bowled by Mashrafe Mortaza and it hit the side of Mehidy’s head who was padded up to replace him in the nets.

However, according to the latest report, Mehidy was seen giving an interview on the sidelines. He said he was feeling fine and even wanted to bat at the nets just after the head injury.

Physio Thian Chandra Mohan and media manager Rabeed Imam also confirmed that Mehidy’s injury is not serious.

“Mehidy apparently wanted to continue batting in the nets but was not allowed to,” Rabeed said.

Bangladesh head coach Steve Rhodes said Mehidy’s availability for the game tomorrow depends on the decision of the physio.

“He [Mehidy] was hit by a ball but as far as I know he is fine at the moment.”

Mohammad Saifuddin and Mosaddek Hossain also missed the last game against Australia due to injury.
