Laxman one of the reasons behind Rayudu’s return

‘3D glasses’ comes to our mind when we come across Ambati Rayudu. The latter sarcastically aimed at India’s chairman of selectors MSK Prasad after he was snubbed in Indian team selection due to lack of three-dimensional game. Vijay Shankar was preferred over Rayudu.

VVS Laxman played an important role in Rayudu’s comeback from retirement.

It was only last year that the middle-order batsman called it quits from first-class cricket in a bid to focus on his limited-overs career. However, after he was snubbed in the team’s set-up, he got emotional and with no option left, he retired from cricket.

However, just two months after calling curtains on his cricketing career, Rayudu has made a sensational U-turn.

Meanwhile, VVS Laxman is one of the major reasons behind Rayudu’s return which made Rayudu realise that he still has a lot of game left in him as he went on to thank VVS Laxman, CSK and Noel David for supporting him during tough times.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank Chennai Super Kings, VVS Laxman and Noel David, who have been very supportive during the tough time and are instrumental in making me realise that I have enough cricket left in me.

“I still believe Rayudu has five years of cricket and groom youngsters which is more important for us. Last year without him, we struggled in Ranji Trophy,” HCA chief selector Noel David said while welcoming Rayudu’s decision.

Last but not least, Ambati Rayudu added that he is looking forward to a great season.

Rayudu said: “I am looking forward to a wonderful season ahead with a very talented Hyderabad team and help the team realise its full potential. I will be available from September 10 to join the Hyderabad team.”
