Former Indian batting great VVS Laxman has showered his praise on the Indian cricket team led by Virat Kohli adding that this year has been a very good year. He was pleased as punch that the current Indian team managed to fulfil his dream of clinching a Test series in Australia.

It is worth mentioning here that Virat Kohli and his team scripted history by winning a Test series in Australia for the first time in 71 years. Virat Kohli and Co registered a 2-1 win in a four-match Test series.

India came out on top in the first Test as they won by 31 runs in Adelaide. They lost the second match in Perth by 146 runs in December last year.

However, the touring party made a strong comeback in the Test series by clinching the third Test by eight wickets with the fourth and the final Test ended in a pulsating draw in Sydney as eventually, India won the historic Test series in Australia.

Indian Test cricket legend VVS Laxman said it was his dream to clinch Test series in Australian, but he couldn’t achieve that in his cricketing career, but Kohli and his team fulfilled his dream by beating Australia for the first time in their own den, and he picked the Test series triumph as his favourite memory of Indian cricket in 2019.

VVS Laxman said on Star Sports’ Nerolac Cricket Live Show, “It’s been a very good year for Indian cricket but being a Test cricketer, my dream was always to beat Australia in Australia, but I was not able to achieve that in my career.”

He further added, “I’m so glad that this Indian team under Virat’s leadership has beaten Australia for the first time in their own backyard which is my favourite moment of Indian cricket in 2019.”
