Liton, Naeem shines with the bat; Razzak, Al-Amin with the ball

Liton Das scored a hundred for Rangpur Division while Naeem Islam remained unbeaten for 124 in the fourth day of the National Cricket League (NCL) tier 1. While on the other side, Al-Amin and Abdur Razzak picked up four wickets each against Rajshahi Division.

Liton and Naeem started brilliantly after Dhaka Divison posted a massive total. Though, Liton didn’t play in the first game, he was in good touch with the bat. He built a solid 154-run partnership with Naeem for the third wicket. The dynamic batsman departed for 124 in the end.

Skipper Nasir Hossain’s poor form continues as he departed for only one while  Ariful Haque ran himself out for 17. However, Tanbir Hayder brought them back into the game once again with his unbeaten 51* before the end of day’s play. Rajshahi ended the day with 334/5 and Naeem remaining unbeaten for 124*.

In the other game,  Rajshahi set a target of 123 runs for Khulna Divison. Khulna lost Anamul Haque early in the chase for 4 before the end of day’s play. They ended the day with 15/1, requiring another 108 runs to win. Shafiul Islam struck early to give them some hope.

Earlier, Nurul Islam scored fifty on the third day. When the team were 250/9, Nurul and Al-Amin built a partnership, but due to tail-enders’ mistake, in the end, it was a heartbreak for Nurul as remained unbeaten for 97.

Al-Amin outclassed Rajshahi in their second innings as his 4/17 bowled them out for only 170 runs. Shanto (57) was the highest-scorer for Rajshahi.
